“No One Listened Until He Spoke”: Tal Oran’s Fight to Expose Nigeria’s Christian Genocide

Last Updated on 3 November 2025

3 November, 2025 — International advocacy groups and Christian communities are expressing gratitude to journalist Tal Oran and CBN News for their relentless coverage of what many are calling an ongoing Christian genocide in Nigeria. Their reporting has drawn renewed global attention to the escalating violence targeting Christian communities across the region.

Tal Oran, an Israeli YouTuber, independent journalist, activist, known for his investigative work on human rights and religious freedom, has been one of the most vocal figures calling for action. Through his coverage and online commentary, Oran repeatedly urged mainstream media outlets and YouTube channels to recognize and condemn the brutal attacks taking place in Nigeria.

Tal Oran stood almost alone at first,  consistently calling out these atrocities and demanding that the world take notice. His persistence helped ensure that this issue could no longer be ignored.

A video by Oran, available on his YouTube channel, has been widely shared among faith-based and human rights networks. The report vividly documents the suffering of Christian communities, highlighting eyewitness accounts and the lack of adequate protection from authorities.

According to advocates, Oran’s and  CBN News  consistent reporting played a crucial role in influencing President Donald Trump’s  decision to designate Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” (CPC) in 1 November – a classification reserved for nations engaged in or tolerating severe violations of religious freedom.

This designation, announced during Trump’s presidency, came with a strong warning that U.S. military action could follow if the Nigerian government failed to act decisively to protect its Christian citizens.

The move marked a major shift in international policy toward Nigeria and underscored the role of independent journalism in shaping public awareness and diplomatic responses.

Human rights organizations continue to call for stronger international measures to halt the violence, protect vulnerable communities, and hold perpetrators accountable.
