Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, or simply Jozani Forest was established in 2004. It is the only national and protected park in Zanzibar. It is a small place, only 50 km2 (19 sq. mi) but a lovely place to visit.

There is an info centre at the entrance gate, where you pay for the trip. If you are on an organised tour, but reach the park on bus 309 or 310 from Paje or Zanzibar town.
How to tour Jozani Forest
A network of various nature trails leads visitors through the forest. The main trail begins at the park entrance and takes about an hour for a stroll. Park staff recommend not to get no closer than 3m when observing the monkeys.
