A 95-second video circulating on social media has plunged Nigerians into shock and anger after it revealed the terrifying ordeal of Mr. and Mrs. Segiru Ibrahim, a couple abducted from Aviele community near Auchi.
The footage begins with happy pre-abduction photos of the couple dressed in traditional attire, then cuts brutally to raw scenes inside the kidnappers’ den. Mr. Segiru Ibrahim, visibly trembling and kneeling on bare ground, records a desperate plea while gunmen threaten him off-camera:
“Please, help us… help us! My wife is pregnant, and they want to sleep with her. Please, help us… Our family has only been able to raise ₦7 million. They are demanding ₦50 million. Please, we are begging for help. Please, assist us!”
In a separate clip included in the video, the victim’s brother stands at the abduction site pointing to the ground:
“This is where my brother and his wife were kidnapped last night, around seven to eight o’clock. He was coming back from town when they took him and his wife. Someone at home saw Fulani men taking them into the bush. This is the bush where he saw them… These are their footprints.”
The abandoned car of the couple is shown on the lonely road, surrounded by dense forest. The rest of the video contains only rustling leaves, distant voices, and the chilling sound of guns being cocked.
The video ends abruptly with no further words, only the clear implication that time is running out for the pregnant woman and her husband.
As the footage spreads rapidly across WhatsApp and X, Nigerians are demanding immediate action from the Edo State Government and security agencies to rescue the couple before the worst happens.
No official statement has been released by the police as at the time of filing this report.
