Etihad Airways is the second-largest airline in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This airline began operations in November 2003 and operates over 1,000 weekly flights to more than 120 passenger and cargo destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Americas.

Etihad runs a frequent flyer program known as ‘Etihad Guest’ where passengers can earn miles and redeem it for lounge access, upgrades, excess baggage allowance, and other travel benefits.

The airline has a fleet of 102 Airbus and Boeing aircraft and has its head office in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi.

The Right tool to book Etihad Airways

You can book Etihad flights online through their booking portal, mobile app, or through flight booking websites such as Flight Scanner, TravelStart, Wakanow, etc. This can be done from the comfort of your home or office.

Alternatively, you may also choose to visit Etihad offices to make your reservations or book your flights through your travel agent.

How to book flights on Etihad Airways booking portal

To book a flight, visit www.etihad.com or open the Etihad Airways mobile app to get started. Locate the ‘Book a flight’ tab, and fill in the required information such as departure & destination cities, departure date, cabin preference, number of passengers, etc.

After this, click on ‘Search flights’ to view available flights, fares, and schedules. Choose your preferred flight from the search results and continue to the next few pages to fill essential information such as your name, phone number, email, preferred meal, and seat, etc.

When you have completed the required information on all pages, you can now make payment to complete the booking process.

Etihad Airways payment options

You can pay directly for your flight using your debit/credit cards, eWallet, or real-time bank transfer. Once payment is successful, you will receive your e-ticket. If after one hour, you have not received your ticket details, call the Etihad Global contact center or visit any Etihad office near you.

Etihad Airways check-In options

  • Online Check-In: You can check-in online or on the mobile app 30 hours before your flight. Online check-in is available until one hour before departure time.
  • Airport Check-In: Airport Check-in opens four hours before your flight and closes:
  • Two hours before flights to the US
  • 60 minutes before all other flights if you’re traveling in Economy
  • 45 minutes before all other flights if you’re travelling in Business

Etihad Airways baggage allowance and policies

Etihad Baggage allowance varies depending on your departure & destination city, cabin, and the Etihad partner airline you’re flying with. Click here to view various baggage allowance Etihad offers.

There are some items that are restricted or may require prior approval to be carried. This includes weapons, explosives, chemicals, inflatables, etc. To find out what you may or may not carry on board or in your checked luggage, read Etihad guidelines on prohibited items.

Etihad Airways destinations

Etihad Airways flies to over 120 destinations around the world. This includes numerous cities in the United Kingdom, Italy, Thailand, China, UAE, USA, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Nigeria, Japan, India, Australia, Denmark, Canada, and many more countries. To confirm cities Etihad Airways operates in, visit the booking portal and click on the drop-down button in either the destination or departure city tab to view all.

Etihad Airways Vs other airlines

Etihad Airways’ strength lies in its facilities. It offers a variety of luxurious classes that passengers can choose from. Their cabins are designed to include: The Residence (Airbus 380 only), the First Apartments (Airbus 380 only), First Suite (Boeing 787 only), Business Studio and Economy Smart seat. The Economy class has various seat types including the Economy space option which offers extra legroom to passengers.

In Abu Dhabi, Etihad Airways has various lounges where passengers can enjoy meals, premium beverages, and spa treatments before a flight. These lounges include Global Etihad lounges, Arrival lounge, Premium lounge, First Class lounge and Spa, and Business Class lounges. Etihad Guest Gold members or those flying in Business or First Class can access all lounges for free while those flying in other cabins will pay to access some lounges. Etihad also has a remarkable In-flight entertainment system.

However, some passengers left reviews concerning the airline’s very poor hospitality and customer service experience. You can check for further reviews on Trustpilot, Trip Advisor, Airlinesratings, or similar websites.
